Re-launch

I put the finishing touches on the Office Beta Notes blog tonight and have officially relaunched it. If you’re interested, there’s a separate RSS feed or you can subscribe to new posts by email. (BTW did you know you can subscribe to this blog by email as well?)

Anyway, if you’re interested in discussing Office 2007 and reading my thoughts on it, I hope you’ll check it out. If you don’t have any interest in Office 2007, don’t fear, I’ll still be keeping up with this blog the same way I always have. This way it won’t have to be Office 2007 all the time. 🙂

  • Worth Reading – Employment data shows the early signs of AI job disruption are already here

While there may be growth opportunities in blue-collar industries, you don’t suddenly become a plumber or electrician. It’s a long learning process that doesn’t scale well for that many unemployed people. This is reskilling at a massive, rapid scale, but we have to admit that whatever reskilling we’ve done in the past hasn’t been that good.

Do we expect what we’ve done before to ever match current and future needs? I don’t think it will, and that’s a problem that should be addressed. We need different, serious ideas, but I don’t see many of them out there.

I’ve been reading Todd Cochrane’s Podcasting book that I won from the Chuck Chat Technorama Show 50 contest. My impressions of the book have been really positive. It’s really written with enough techincal information to keep the geek in all of us interested, while still being easy enough to follow for the newbie. It covers…

  • Loose ends

First off, yes I know that basically since I mentioned the support forums, THC’s site has been unreachable. It figures, like anything, the second you tell other people about it, it’s gone. 🙂 In other news, it’s an exciting time online, last night the email-to-blog feature for Blogger Pro went live, the Google API was…

  • Grease Monkey Update

Noting this for myself for when I’m at my work machine tomorrow, and any other Greasemonkey users who might see a similar problem, the new update to Greasemonkey, version 0.3.3 seems to have broken at least one of the user scripts that I use (Gmail Smart Delete button). Check for updates to user scripts if…

  • Blogback

Ah so I see my point about real-time blogging at conferences being a bad idea has reached Robert Scoble’s eyes today. He says: So, your boss doesn’t want you to take notes next time he pays you to go to a conference? No, actually, I’m sure my boss does want me to take notes, since…
