Trillian

Hey, there’s a new patch, I think, that fixes the Yahoo “problem”. I’ve been away all day so I don’t know the details but I know I couldn’t connect to Yahoo yesterday, I went and looked for an update today, installed it, and now I can connect to Yahoo.

Where have I been all day? I spent 3 hours this morning in a meeting discussing business ethics, ran straight from that meeting to the hospital, where my wife was getting a CAT scan done, and spent most of the afternoon awaiting those results. (She’s going to be fine, probably a viral infection, I’ll leave it up to her to share what she wants on her blog.)

I’ve had funner days. 🙂

Everyone knows what the number one rule of the helpdesk is. Users lie. We all accept that as truth, we all have plenty of stories about catching users in a lie, and I think even our users find it completely acceptable to lie to the helpdesk. But why? What’s the point? Seriously, if we all…

Started working on my newest big project today. It’s not very exciting, but it’ll be a worry off my mind when it’s done. Now that I have a cd-burner on my work PC, I’m making backup copies of all of our software installation cd’s. I’ve been running on one copy of Office 2000 for two…

Maybe this will get those people who insist on keeping every email they’ve ever gotten to finally stop that practice. The technical explanations about disk space and email processing speed haven’t gotten them to, so let’s take the argument to their own territory. 🙂 The e-mail you save can be held against you. • Outlook Today problem

I don’t honestly believe any one else in our office has ever used the Outlook Today screen in Outlook 2000 before now, but if anyone tries to again and runs into the same problem of clicking on the “Customize Outlook Today” button and nothing happens, I know what the workaround is! • OPML Editor

I downloaded and played around a bit with Dave’s OPML Editor last night because I thought I might have use for an online outliner. You can see the result here. I think it’s a decent tool, and useful for a lot of things, but I’m not sure it’s the right tool for what I want…
