Evening out

Had another meetup with a fellow blogger this evening. This time Angela and I ventured out to Easton for dinner, good conversation and a few laughs with Andy and his wife, Kristen. Angela has pictures!. (Pity the poor woman at the next table who wound up in the background of our pics and who’s likeness is now plastered all over the ‘net, eh?)

I think I can speak for both of us when I say we’re both very glad and honored that they chose to spend one evening of their very busy “vacation in the US” time. Thanks guys! Enjoy the rest of your time!

If you read along here you know that I’m not one to recommend a lot of online resources that cost money. Let’s face it, with the IT budget I’m given at work, and the salary I make from that job, I need all the free resources I can get! But you owe it to yourself…

Angela, beat me to the details of the mystery weekend, including some pictures. I haven’t even offloaded pics from the CF card of my digital camera yet. I’m such a slacker. One of the things I’ve constantly mentioned to people about working in a small office is that it really gives you the opportunity to know your users, and tailor your message, so to speak, to their technical abilities. I’ve encouraged you all, to the best of your abilities, to try and understand what your users…

  • Spyware investigation

Some interesting stuff, but no closer to a final conclusion of how it got there. The installer ran an XML file to get it’s updates. The XML file instructed it to download 4 files from download.statblaster.com. Those files were MemoryWatcher-b.exe, all_files9.exe, tracker.exe and FixIt.exe. Those in turn come bundled with their own “extras” and in…

  • Segway

Saw my first Segway today. A cop was riding it through the Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta. Angela actually pointed it out to me, she’s turning into such a good little geek wife. 🙂 Now that I’ve seen one up close, I can honestly say that my opinion hasn’t changed, it’s a neat toy,…
