Pretty spiffy, isn’t it?

Yes we did it, we became the proud owners of a 2002 Subaru Forester today! We picked it up from The Hatfield Automall on the west side of Columbus. Tim Vulgamore, the internet manager out there finalized the deal for us, and was really a good guy, not at all what I’ve come to expect from car salesmen! We’d actually recommend him highly!

After the hours spent there, and the hours spent at my brother and sister-in-law’s house, this is really the first time I’ve been online all day. Needless to say, I’m behind on my tech news. Hopefully I didn’t miss anything, especially since afer being at said brother’s house, my animal allergies are kicking and the allergy medicine has me feeling a bit loopy. So I’m not even going to try to do any more blogging than this. I might say something even dumber than I normally do! *L*

Worth Reading – How Malinformation Tricks Your Brain

The article above, however, makes it clear that our brains take shortcuts to make quick decisions. In doing so, the number of times we see something that isn’t true can impact whether we treat it as false or true. That is frightening in a world where tens of thousands of posts can be created in minutes.

I only have today and tomorrow to get any and all work done for the rest of the month, since I’ll be gone. I’m working hard on getting everything caught up. I’m checking and double checking all the logs and machines for signs of impending trouble that I can correct now, instead of waiting for…

  • Double Wow!

From Jevon’s blog today: “I linked to http://www.mikemcbride.com instead of http://www.mikemcbrideonline.com yesterday. . . Imagine my suprise when I followed the original link today. Hijacking.” For the record, I am not affiliated with mikemcbride.com in any way, shape or form! I do not get involved in such extreme religious/political arguments. I’m just a geek with…

  • Monday, Monday.

Stephen Gielda has a nice little article about internal system security, and stresses how the weakest link in network security is inside your office, not outside. Monday for me has been rather uneventful. Staff Meeting this morning didn’t even ruin my mood for the day like it has consistently the last few times we’ve had…
