This might just be the most useful Greasemonkey script yet.
Now instead of having to enter your name, email address and URL for every different WordPress or Movable Type blog, you enter it once by hitting Shift-Alt-C and then every time after that, you just hit Alt-C when you want to fill in the comments form with your default value. Freakin’ cool.

So, I left, for a job I could do from anywhere. And, most of all, I appreciate the fact that I can do this job from anywhere, even if the pandemic has meant doing it from the same exact spot in my house for the last 15 months. Because, when the time comes, I can be where I need to be, and continue working. That matters. That shows that the company trusts me, and I want to continue to earn that trust by meeting deadlines and getting my work done.
That kind of relationship, or culture if you will, seems to be missing from many companies based on what I’m seeing other people talk about, online and off. Yet, every company out there like top brag about their top-notch “culture”.
Culture isn’t what you say you do, culture is what you do together. And if, together, you have no trust between employees and management, well that’s your culture, regardless of what your mission statements says.
I’m online to connect with other real people and the ideas that live in their heads. I write to share those ideas with others, but I also write because writing helps clarify my thoughts and ideas. It’s practice for the many times I find myself needing to go into more detail and flesh out ideas in front of other people. Asking a chatbot to write this post wouldn’t give me mental exercise. It would remove the challenge of figuring out what I want to say and how I want to say it.

Scot Finnie has finished his review of Opera. He comes to a different conclusion than I did . Chalk it up to personal preference, as he doesn’t seem to see the things I don’t like about it as problems. I figure those aren’t his concerns. Speaking of work, I haven’t posted about it all week…
