I hate today

Well no, actually I don’t hate April 1, I have a good reason to love April 1, but I hate trying to read RSS feeds or even news stories because you never know what to believe. On top of that, not many people actually do anything remotely funny as an April Fool’s joke anymore. There were a few exceptions, but mostly, they were just lame retreads of the same thing people have been blogging for years on this day, which are just on-line versions of the same things people have been saying for years. Blah.

Oh, yeah, the reason I love April 1? Angela and I went on our first date April 1, 2000. We went to see High Fidelity, with John Cusack, and then went to grab some dinner at the nearby Appleebee’s.

Naturally, we went there for dinner tonight as well, but we didn’t pull out the High Fidelity DVD. 😉

Did Social Networking Land Me a Job?

Whenever I’m asked about using social networking tools, inevitably someone asks me if I could see it ever helping someone find a job. I’ve always had to answer that although I have never gotten a job offer due to my online connections, it has led to a number of other opportunities that I would not…

  • A BlogDebate, eh?

More from Scoble: Well, usually where I have lunch there isn’t an 802.11 connection around. If there were, I’d seriously consider blogging it pretty close to live. Wow, maybe in Silicon Valley it’s not considered rude, but here in the rest of the world (Where 95% of the people do not blog) pulling out your…

Monday, Monday. Actually today hasn’t been too bad, the new and improved security policy was rolled out this morning to staff, so today’s been busy answering questions, explaining to people what they need to get rid of, and why. We’re really working to root out unlicensed software, and spyware that’s gotten into some of our…

    Cowpens National Battlefield

This week marks the 261st anniversary of the Battle of Cowpens, a victory for the Americans led by Daniel Morgan, over the British led by Banastre Tarleton. Each year, on the weekend closest to the data of the battle, the national park hosts a weekend-long historical encampment. Despite it being a bit chilly Saturday morning,…

  1. I agree wholeheartedly. I have spent most of the day reminding myself it is April Fools Day. Really impacts the productivity.

At least it occurred on a weekend, so we won’t have to deal with this during the work week.

  2. I’m glad we didn’t turn out to be a joke or maybe we are but we’re both in on it.

    Love you!!

  3. Congratulations to you both.

Eeye’s website (a security company) was replaced with a hacked page saying that the site had been compromised and free keys were available for the software. When you clicked the link it pointed you to the real site with the free links.
Blink looks pretty good although it pops up messages like crazy when you first switch it on.
