Remote Calendars

I’ve written before about my reluctance to use Google Calendar because my whole schedule is in Outlook and I have used Yahoo’s for keeping my wife informed on my calendar because Google doesn’t have an easy way to synchronize with Outlook. I thought today when I saw a link to this post about Remote Calendars that I had a way to start using Google Calendar, but the solution I wanted proved to be just out of my reach.

Seems that in order to get Remote Calendars to work with Outlook 2007 beta, you have to get it working with Outlook 2003 and then upgrade. Since I’ve already done that upgrade, and don’t especially want to go back to 2003 and redo it, I guess I’ll continue working the way I have been.

By now I’m sure you’ve all heard about the security hole in Firefox, and the “recommended fixes”. Here’s the thing though, turning off Javascript disables all those cool little Greasemonkey scripts, and turning off “Let website install software” just makes it more difficult for people to get extensions for Firefox. It’s those extensions and add-ons…

“Such concerns didn’t strike me as farfetched, but I was reluctant to air them in mixed company. I knew that many of my fellow citizens took comfort in their own banality: You live a boring life and feel you have nothing to fear from those on high. But how could you anticipate the ways in…

  1. Amen, Brother! I wasted such a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out how to get it to work w/ O2007! However, I’ve given notice at my current employer, so will set this up with my Outlook 2003 at home. I’ll let you know if I can get it working there, or if it’s simply a lost cause.
