I uninstalled Windows Defender

Not because it didn’t work, but because the latest update repeatedly failed to install, but constantly kept popping up a balloon from the Systray to ask me to download the same update that failed to install. Out of pure annoyance, I uninstalled the program. Some nights, that’s how I feel.

Update: Thanks to the May 1 Langa List I discovered I’m not the only one who had this problem, and grabbing a fresh download of the beta and installing it again seems to have fixed the update problem. So it’s back installed again.

    Thanks for the suggestions in the comments below, in reply let me say that, yes the host does support PHP and ASP, so I could, given enough time, figure out how to write a referrer script myself and have it display properly. (They don’t support MySQL, so I don’t tend to use PHP at all…
