Am I missing something?

I was reviewing some exam questions for the A+ exam over my lunch today, using the practice tests included with Mike Meyers’ A+ Certification Passport. It’s a decent book and the practice tests seem decent, but one of the questions had to do with someone who’s new email client could get incoming email but couldn’t send any email. Two of the possible answers were incorrect SMTP settings and incorrect POP3 settings. It gave the correct answer as incorrect POP3 settings. It even gave an explanation of the answer as “The POP3 settings are used for sending mail. Libby did not set her POP3 server settings correctly.”

I’ve setup an awful lot of email clients in my time and every one of them lists POP3 as incoming and SMTP as outgoing. 🙂 Maybe I’m just losing my freakin’ mind!

Brad reminded me about the Columbus ITEC show going on next month. I had forgotten all about it. I’ll probably be there at some point during the two days of the event, but I’m not sure when yet. Gonna have to get a good look at the seminar schedule and what not before then. 🙂…

Updates on my week so far: Mac is still crashing. More graphics work has been lost. Possibly going to work exclusively booted into OS 9 for now. (It can’t hurt at this point..) Massive amounts of research done (Thanks to Google) to show that a company has made deceptive, if not outright false, statements to…
