Not all it’s cracked up to be.

You know, staying home and resting seemed like a good idea, until I noticed that the currently-vacant house next door is having some rather loud repairs done to it, and every recorded-message telemarketing firm in existence has decided to call our house this afternoon! Grr!

Hopefully Jason remembers to bring the extra wireless access point that he decided he didn’t need with him when he stops by for dinner tonight. It’ll be nice to be able to sit with my laptop down in the living room, or out on the front porch every once in awhile. Hopefully getting it integrated with our current Ethernet network won’t be a big deal. It shouldn’t be, should just be a matter of patching it into the existing router after I assign it a different IP address than the router is using, but you never know what adding hardware to a network is really going to do. Anyone done this before and have some thoughts on what I should look out for? I probably won’t have time to really deal with it until we get back from the in-laws this weekend, (where I have a small list of PC troubleshooting projects waiting for me as well) but I’m looking forward to it!
